Comments:
I am strongly opposed to amending the 'Telemarketing Sales Rule' to create a call abandonment safe harbor for telemarketer pre-recorded messages. I DO NOT want to receive pre-recorded telemarketer calls from businesses that I supposedly have a preexisting relationship. The 'no call list' was created to protect consumers from being repeatedly annoyed by telemarketer calls. It has already been weakened by allowing calls from businesses with 'pre-existing relationships'. If anything, the rules should be made tougher to prevent telemarketer calls, not more lax. Additionally, I am strongly opposed to amending wording to 'measured per day per calling campaign' from 'measured over a 30 day period'.
