December 5, 2004 While the FTC "do not call" rule is somewhat of a success there are still some major drawbacks. We are constantly deluged with solicitation via fax and currently some voice automated calls. I report most of the violators via the Do Not Call website. Unfortunately, "remove from list" numbers often give these phone spammers information you are an active host. We get “Stock Tip” junk fax (spam), Travel and other solicitation on a “Do Not Call” all the time. It is a violation of our choice when we receive this solicitation. "Do not call" implies exactly that. As a consumer I have a choice whether or not I want solicitation. Please! Do Not give these telemarketers this right. Even in the “Do Not Call” era we get calls, so please do not make this move. Let us keep our right to make the choice whether or not we want this solicitation not the industry. Remember it is the Telemarketer that wants this option; NOT THE CONSUMER. Thank you, Terry Pebbles Terry Pebbles
