I am completely against having any kind of solicitation or advertising on my phone lines. As the user of a computer, our home has two phone lines so that we can be available to those with whom we choose to speak. We pay the cost of this service. It does not belong to anyone else especially not to anyone in the corporate world! The very idea that our hard-won "Do Not Call" list might be changed infuriates me. The phone line is a PRIVATE service paid for by the consumer. JUst because it is accessible to others, does not mean it is acceptable to cross the boundary between public and private space!! Surely the FTC which represents the citizens of this country and NOT the corporate community will have the guts to stand up for those whom it is supposed to represent.
