|Subject:||Trade Regulation Rule on Telemarketing Sales|
|Title:||Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, Request for Comment|
|CFR Citation:||16 CFR Part 310|
Comments:I am very strongly against these measures. By providing these loopholes, not only are telemarketers now free to once again interrupt people with unwanted product promotions, they are able to do so using automated features denying consumers the ability to request that they be taken off of any future call list. In addition, extending the period of calls in which abandonment may occur multiplies the possible invalid calls by a factor of thirty. Please, do not pass these measures. There are many available marketing channels for sales promotions, most of which are far more successful than this.
