I ask the FTC not to create this safe harbor. Despite having signed up for the national Do Not Call List more than a year ago, already I am deluged with calls from companies with which I have ostensibly "done business" pestering me with further marketing attempts. If these vultures are able to essentially spam us, without even being required to have a person on the phone to whom we can complain and ask to be removed from the calling list, the benefits to the public of the FTC's Do Not Call List may be swallowed. Telemarketers remain enough of a menace - I beg the FTC not to give them still more leeway to intrude upon the privacy of Americans in their homes.
