I strenuously object to the FTC opening a loophole in the new Do Not Call rules to allow pre-recorded message telemarketing. Telemarketing was the bane of my existence evenings at home for many years, and do-not-call has resulted in considerably more privacy, with peaceful evenings at home possible again. I very much resented the already existing loophole permitting political parties to make pre-recorded message calls during the recent elections. If companies are permitted to call with pre-recorded messages, I think we'll be right back where we started. "Opting out" is not a reasonable answer. I already have to contact credit companies and others with whom I have a pre-existing relationship one-by-one to get them to stop sharing my private information with other companies, and to stem the endless flow of useless junk mail. Allowing the new loophole for do-not-call would just open me up to junk phone calls again. Please do not permit telemarketers to dial those of us on the do-not-call list with pre-recorded messages. I feel very strongly about this--it would obviously be a violation of the spirit of do-not-call. Craige Roberts Columbus, OH
