No, no no. Please don't begin giving telemarketing companies a little way here, a little way there to restart with unsolicited telephone calls and messages. I'm sure that many Americans have been thankful since legislation created the Do Not Call llist. It would be a step backward to create a loophole that would force people to re-register on another list once they again begin receiving unwanted calls from telemarketers. Also, what constitutes customers of companies? With mega-corporations owning so many subsidiaries and small businesses, techinally I could be a customer of KRAFT Foods if I purchase a CD, oil filter, candle, etc. - You get the point. It's enough that we are bombarded with ads from every direction. But I paid for my phone and I pay the monthly bill and I determine who gets to call me. My telephone number does not belong to someone's pool.
