I am NOT in favor of this ammendment to the Do Not Call regulations. It seems that the Direct Marketing Association has been handycapped and is trying to weaken the bill to get back more business. I have already started receiving these pre-recorded messages and I find them especially annoying and offensive. To me it is the worst form of communication anyone can use. If someone wants to reach me they can call me directly or send me a letter or email me. That is certainly more than enough ways to reach me. When I look at my caller ID and see private caller or unknown caller or when I hear an automated voice, I always hang up the phone. The hassle is this," I have to stop doing what I am doing to answer the phone and it is the telemarketers that have done this to themselves." Thank you for listening to the public on this vote and deny this move to weaken the legislation.
