I am on the do not call list because I do not want to have my phone line tied up by telemarketing calls live or pre-recorded, not even from companies that I have done business with in the past. I have their number, if I need additional products or services I will call them at my convienience. I have an 87 year old Mother-in-law who is in need of help from time to time and we need to keep our phone line open. We have call waiting and a phone allert on our computer for that purpose. Remember that my phone line is in my home and that I pay for it. I do not need to stop what I am doing to answer a call I do not need or want. Do not call me. Send me all the junk mail VIA the postal service that you want, just don't invade my home by calling me. The worst type of call that you can get is a pre-recorded one. you must stop what you are doing to answer a machine. That is definitely wrong. If anything the do not call list should also prevent politicians, charities, and surveys from calling.
