I do not want to receive any form of telemarketing calls from anyone - even companies I do business with. Telemarketing calls are very intrusive into family life. I refuse to do business with anyone via a telemarketing call so any call of this form is wasted time both for the telemarketer and myself. I have heard that the telemarketers are saying the do not call list violates their rights. The do not call list protects my rights as a citizen to determine whether I wish to receive telemarketing calls or not. Telemarketing phone calls take up valuable time during the day that I prefer to use elsewhere. I have been extremely pleased with the result of having placed my name on the do not call list. Eliminating the annoying telemarketing calls has improved the quality of my life and I am opposed to anything that might compromise this. I would be for a way that people could opt in to receiving selected calls if they so desire. I do not like the concept of an opt out option since I consider placing my name on the do not call list the way to opt out. I do not want to see that changed.
