The advantage of a DO NOT CALL LIST is that you are not interrupted to dash to the phone, often at meal times, to hear a sales pitch you did not solicit. To allow recorded messages would gut the main advantage of the list -- do not violate my privacy, especially using a phone service I must pay for. I do not want my meals interrupted. I do not want to get out of bed to answer an unwanted phone call. I do not want to run in from working in the yard to hear a recording I do not want to hear. FORCE THEM TO OPT IN RATHER THAN FORCE ME TO OPT OUT!
