Gentlemen: Regarding the proposed change in telemarketing regulations: The computer generated phone calls, as you know, dial up a number of phone numbers and the first one answered gets the message. The rest get no sound or anything. For those of us who have caller ID, this isn't much of a problem. However, for the elderly, my husband's 91 year old uncle for example, this presents a problem. We were taught that when the phone rings and there is no one there, that means someone is calling to see if you are home so, they can come and rob your house. Urban legend perhaps, but many people believe this. Our uncle would not leave his house for 2 months because of these calls. We get calls saying that his phone is not working because it rings and there is no one there. It isn't fair to subject senior citizens to this kind of "legal telephone harassment" and that's the only description for this. Let these people support the US Postal System, and not be a nuisance to the elderly. Christine Vischer
