I totally oppose the changes to the "Do Not Call List" rules. I do not ever want to receive a pre-recorded message from anyone - whether there is a previous business relationship or not. This is an invasion of privacy and using a pre-recorded message for legitimate business puts the burden of correcting errors on the consumer. For example, If a company that I have a credit card puts me on a delinquent list in error, and calls me with an automated system, I have to track them back to correct this. Not my responsibility, but it can easily become my problem. The do not call rules should be made harder, not easier for this type of impersonal call. Additionally, I do not support the change of per call day abandonment to a 30 day average. This would let companies have wild out call days with no staffing (such as a holiday where they don't want to pay overtime) and have it even out over time. I have worked in an inbound call center and even handled call management. I know how these things can be skewed when desired. Finally, there needs to be a definition of established business relationship. Just because I have a credit card with XYZ company, I don't want to hear about every new offer with every new partner, association, or selling hookup. Just not interested. If a company has a legitimate product, at a fair price, and I need it, then I will find them on my own. Regards, Pam Thompson
