The changes proposed to the Trade Regulation Rule on Telemarketing Sales (Docket Id: RIN 3084-0098) should not be made. Since the "Do Not Call" registry has been enacted, my family and I now answer the phone at night. Before the law, we were receiving as many as 30 phone calls per week from telemarketing firms, which caused us to not pick up the phone. I don't want companies that I already do business with to have the ability to call me to sell more products and services. I am more likely to support email from these companies, since the message goes directly to me. When the phone rings, any member of the family can answer it, which doesn't support the argument that a pre-existing business relationship exists specifically with them. Do not allow this change to the law.
