|Subject:||Trade Regulation Rule on Telemarketing Sales|
|Title:||Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, Request for Comment|
|CFR Citation:||16 CFR Part 310|
Comments:Why would you think that, because I once lone ago bought a box of matches from someone, I wanted to be bombarded by recorded message traffic on a telephone that I, not he, pay for. Why should he be granted use of my facilities? What happened to the "government for the people" attitude? The only thing wrong with this rule is that it isn't strong enough, providing penalties that the infringed upon can invoke and which causes serious pain to the infringer. You're supposed to be on our side; you don't seriously believe that any member of the public wants to be on the receiving end of a advertising recording?
