Please do NOT do this! I do NOT want to come home to an answering machine full of calls from companies that claim some sort of business relationship with me. I promise I will call them if there's anything I need. Otherwise, I would ask them to respect my privacy and home. If you do this, the system will be even worse than before--now I may have no choice but to listen to hours of messages, on the off chance that someone I know called. Also, I will have difficulty accessing urgent or emergency messages that have been left on my machine, amid the welter of ads. To get these companies to stop calling, will I now need to call them, stay on hold, and then have a long discussion with them? I truly do not have time to do that. No one does. Please do NOT do this--or create an opt-out possibility for millions of Americans like me who DO NOT want to be harassed by businesses. Finally, if you do approve this, I will have no option left but to eliminate my land line completely. But perhaps this is what you want? Anyway, I am asking you to NOT do this (even while I assume it's totally pointless to ask, because you do what rich companies want).
