I am against the proposed amendment to the Telemarketing Sales Rule. I am on the National No Call list. This amendment would open my personal phone message system to become just another "spam" container like my email again. I already receive 80 emails a day of which about 5 are legitimate. The rest are "spam". I do not want my phone messaging to go the same direction again. A glowing example of what will happen occured during the past election. Prior to the month before the election, I received maybe one recorded telemarketing message a month. A month prior to the election, the count went to one a day of the "allowed" political messages. By the week of the election, this had risen to 4 a day. If anything, I think that the rule should be tightened to disallow unsolicited calls by political organizations and charitable organizations.
