I don't want to hear from telemarketers at all, ever again. I find it highly offensive that telemarketers might be permitted to send pre-recorded sales pitches. I have enjoyed a sense of peace and quiet this past year since the Do Not Call rules went into effect. I don't want to deal with having to opt out of every possible telemarketer's sales pitches. I absolutely don't want to ever find recorded messages in my voice box. I would only delete them without allowing them to play. The potential exists that I'll come home to find numerous recorded messages filling up my voice box every day. Some recording devices don't allow one to disconnect until an entire message is played. This ties up the phone line. If one has an emergency or needs to place a business call, one is held hostage until the message is finished. Telemarketers continued to spam my fax number after the Do Not Call rule went into effect. Every day they wasted reams of paper and ink, and, hence, my money. I'd opt out as fast as they spammed me only to have my number sold to new accounts. So much for the opt out option. I had to reprogram my fax machine just to use it for my own purposes in order to avoid printing out those worthless ads. I truly resent the hell those telemarketer spammers put me through in the privacy of my own home. Even with a state of the art security system, I felt like I was enduring home invasion on a daily basis. In trying to avoid those messages, my fax machine broke. It was barely used. Finally, in deparation, I just cancelled that phone line. I'll bet those telemarketers are wondering where I went. Please don't put them on my track again. God forbid they get ahold of my cell number. I don't have one of those plans with unlimited minutes. Every spam can cost me big bucks. Now I face the same type of harrassment on my voice line that I endured on my fax line. Telemarketers refuse to accept the fact that most Americans don't want to buy anything they sell. If this wasn't true, there'd be no need to try getting around the Do Not Call rule. Please don't carve out this loophole to the Do Not Call rule. The telemarketers will only sell my name to one another as soon as I opt out. There will be no respite from them. There won't even be a live person to tell, Go to hell! Sincerely, Marie Sims
