I am against this proposal to allow companies to place prerecorded sales messages on my voice mail. I now already receive 1-3 of these per week. Usually they are unclear as to they are from, are selling products in which I have no interest or no prior knowledge. Along with the 6-8 calls I receive EVERY DAY, this then becomes an annoyance that becomes intolerable. I pay to pick up each message left for me. This would then add to my expenses as I try to sort out the calls that are important for me to hear. When a human calls I have the opportunity to interact, or simply hang up if it it is computer generated. I maintain voice mail for those people who NEED to reach me, not for spam. Therefore, please do not open this door.
