|Subject:||Trade Regulation Rule on Telemarketing Sales|
|Title:||Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, Request for Comment|
|CFR Citation:||16 CFR Part 310|
Comments:This should absolutely NOT be allowed. It will completely undermine the do-not-call list. I recieved so many recordings during the weeks leading up to the presidential election that I had to disconnect my answering machine. Recordings are worse than people calling because you can't ask them to not call again, the burden is put on the bothered consumer to contact the company and tell them to stop leaving message. Everywhere you turn around you are be slamed with obnoxious advertising. It is wrong that we should have to endure it in our homes, especially recordings which advertisers can do in MUCH larger numbers and greater frequency than human made calls. All phone telemarketing should be stopped completely! Rather than a do-not-call list, there should be a call-me list and only people who sign up should have to deal with disruptive, unsolicted, unwanted marketing.
