11-28-04 Dear Sir or Madam: As most Americans did, I thought the whole point in the "Do Not Call" rule was to keep these predators out of our lives. And, like most Americans, I expected the Do Not Call Registry to have the integrity and honesty to protect us. Now it appears the American public has been duped by Federal Trade Commission and Mr. Allen Hile since Mr. Hile wants to provide these vulchers a back door, a loophole, a way to intrude, interfere, invade, and interrupt the privacy of American citizens. May I say firstly how disappointed I am that someone in the political position of Mr. Hile could and would do such a thing. Secondly, I must protest that Mr. Hile be put out of that position and someone with integrity installed in it. The citizens of The United States of America en masse asked for the creation of, and asked to be put on, the Do Not Call Registry in order to NOT get calls from reprobates and bottom feeders that use telephone marketing tactics. Did you not understand that when millions of people responded to be put on this Do Not Call Registry? Do you think that American citizens will agree that you, and only you, have the right to put them back on calling lists? NO! NO! We do NOT want any exclusions to the Do Not Call Registry. We want our privacy protected. We expect you to have the responsibility and integrity to keep us off all calling lists. Millions of people responded to the Do Not Call Registry thinking that the tasteless, rude, intrusive, and annoying calls would end. If you put our numbers back into circulation to anyone for any reason, you will have failed your responsibility to the millions of Americans who believed you when they signed up.
