With the FTC Do-Not-Call list, we finally got rid of these ridiculous messages that fill up our answering machines, and got rid of phones ringing with unwanted interruptions. What part of "NO, WE DON'T WANT TELEMARKETING CALLS" don't you people understand? Those telemarketing recordings have tied up our phones and caused us to miss important business and personal messages because the line was busy or the answering machine was full of these unwanted messages. The recent "automated" election-related telemarketing invasion is a searingly irritating reminder of how bad it was before we said NO to such stuff. Don't put us at risk by allowing these calls to reduce the useful capacity of our telephones and answering systems and take us back to the days of phones ringing with telemarketing interruptions.
