This amendment deeply troubles me. The do not call registry is a remarkable case of the government improving citizens' lives. To now begin poking holes in it would be a tragedy. Furthermore, I find the prerecorded messages to be the most invasive and annoying types of telemarketing calls. There is no way to fight back. Essentially you are being continually harrassed by a machine. This is a horrible thing to willingly subject citizens to. This amendment is clearly the work of corporate lobbyists. What public good does this amendment serve? When the influence of corporate money is this transparent in goverment it is a blow to the people's confidence that the goverment is there to protect them. This is why citizens do not have faith in goverment. I sincerely hope that our representatives will see through this amendment and vote against it.
