CAN-Spam has already attempted this, and is failing. I feel that this initiative would also fail in the same way, likely creating new advertising "campaigns" to bombard us in our homes. Imagine every store you've ever shopped at now having an instant free (prerecorded) call to your home phone. What's worse is that mobile phone numbers are being opened up to telemarketers. Now we can be bombarded and get charged for the airtime! Will telemarketers totally overlook this ripe new market? They'd be idiotic not to. I am opposed to this measure. I think the do-not-call list should remain closed with no loopholes. My mobile phone bill is expensive enough without having three to five extra calls a day. Please do not make this change to the do-not-call list. -Brock
