Comments:
I object most strongly to any attempt to weaken the Do Not Call process. I enrolled in the program in order to assure that I do NOT receive any telemarketing calls. The spate of unsolicited calls I received during the recent elections merely confirmed my preference for receiving NO unsolicited calls. I do not feel that a 'pre-existing business relationship', no matter how ridigly or loosely the definition is construed, should permit a telemarketer to avoid complying with my stated preference. If the Commission didn't intend to enforce the Do Not Call provisions as they were outlined to consumers, the option should never have been offered. Please to not permit any such deviation from the original intent of this process.
