These revisions, if passed, seem to mark the end of the usefulness of the Do-Not-Call list and more evidence that a handful of wealthy people get to dictate what happens to the many millions that do not wish to receive these calls. Given the overwhelming popularity of this list, it is stupid to suggest weakening it (presumably progressively) to allow advertisers the make calls that those millions of people asked not to receive. With this change, the "do-not-call" becomes "only-call-sometimes," which sounds like the first step in "sign-up-to-receive-many-calls."
