Changing the Trade Regulation Rule on Telemarketing Sales to benefit companies at the expense of the individuals who have signed up for the Do Not Call list would be a travesty. It would clearly be against the intent and implied fiduciary responsibilities the FTC took on when the Do Not Call list was created. Making such changes to benefit a few people at the expense of the people who have signed up for the Do Not Call list is just wrong. It may please a few, but will potentially anger everyone on the Do Not Call list. I hope the FTC has better uses for the resources it would take to defend itself against the anger of the people on the Do Not Call list.
