I am outraged at the thought that the Do Not Call Registry will possibly be used to allow telemarketers to call people who obviously signed up to NOT receive calls from them. This effectively gives them a list of numbers to call from people who willingly gave their numbers so that they could be protected from this type of abuse. I do not understand how the telemarketers will gain anything by allowing this to happen. These people obviously do not want to be harrassed by phone calls and will certanly not buy anything from them. Who wins? Certainly not the public that this law is supposed to protect. Our government need to start realizing that they need to protect and support the people, not a business or corporation that only sees dollar signs. This type of behavior should not be tolerated!
