|Subject:||Trade Regulation Rule on Telemarketing Sales|
|Title:||Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, Request for Comment|
|CFR Citation:||16 CFR Part 310|
Comments:While I normally try to be more elegant in my wording, the only thought that comes to my head right now is, "What the hell are you thinking?" This is exactly the type of thing that the "Do Not Call" registry is there to stop (although admittedly it's slightly less obnoxious with requiring an established business relationship, but almost anything could be twisted into fitting that definition). I feel that the establishment of the "Do Not Call" registry was finally a move forward in reducing the wasteful use of telecommunications resources, as well as personal time and potential fraud. Any move to weaken it I feel is ludicrous and certainly isn't in the best interest of the individuals that would be targeted by any entity making use of the relaxed rules. Please DO NOT pass this amendment.
