The public good is not served by any form of telemarketing. The national do-not-call list is good and should only be strengthened, not weakened as proposed. My telephone should not ring unless a friend or relative is on the other end, except in emergencies or when I specifically ask to be called, never for advertising. There is no time of the day that is convenient for a business intrusion, whether or not it is a company I have done business with. If a business calls me, it should be the garage telling me my car is fixed and ready to be picked up, not advertising of any kind.
