"Do Not Call" means just that - do not call. People who have chosen to put their telephone numbers on the Do Not Call list have made a very explicit and clear choice to stop receiving telemarketing calls, regardless of whether those calls are live or pre-recorded. "Do Not Call" does not mean "call only a little" or "call with only pre-recorded messages" or "call only if I've bought something from you in the last 18 years", it means DO NOT CALL! The creation of the Do Not Call list has been widely hailed as a great service to the public. Crippling the Do Not Call list by allowing telemarketers to call numbers on it would be equally widely hailed as a great DIS-service to the public. "Do Not Call" means DO NOT CALL - don't take away our freedom to choose whether we wish to receive telemarketing calls or not.
