Telephone, electric, and natural gas are all utilties that I pay money to use. I do not allow people to casually walk by and use any of my services: People don't plug in electical devices to my outlets without permission. Telephone service is no different. Its absurd to hear these telemarketers scream 1st Amendment rights about telephone solicitation. No one is telling them they can't stand on a street corner and talk. What we are telling them is that a service that I PAY FOR will not be invaded by them - They have NO RIGHT to use a service which I am being charged for without my permission. I'm surprised that the FTC is even thinking about making another form of advertisement legal, like we don't have enough advertisements pushed down our throat enough in a single day.
