I TOTALLY OPPOSE ALLOWING RECORDED TELEMARKETING CALLS! I AM BOMBARDED WITH RECORDED TELEMARKETING CALLS EACH WEEK AND IT IS INFURIATING. YOU RUSH FOR THE PHONE ONLY TO HEAR SOME JERK SPOUTING A RECORDED MESSAGE. THEN YOU SLAM THE PHONE DOWN SO HARD IT'S A WONDER IT DOESN'T BREAK. YOU CAN'T EVEN YELL AT THE BUMS WHO ARE DRIVING YOU CRAZY WITH THEIR USELESS, TIME-WASTING MESSAGES. WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO DO, DRIVE THE AMERICAN PUBLIC CRAZY? RECORDED SALES CALLS SHOULD BE ILLEGAL IN ALL 50 STATES. IT IS ILLEGAL IN FLORIDA BUT THEY DO IT ANYWAY. THEY OUGHT TO BE ARRESTED FOR HARASSMENT. I DON'T CARE IF I'VE EVER DONE BUSINESS WITH A COMPANY OR NOT, THEY HAVE NO RIGHT TO BOMBARD ME WITH THEIR PRE-RECORDED MESSAGES!! I JUST MADE A FORMAL COMPLAINT AGAINST ONE COMPANY FOR THEIR REPEATED CALLS TO MY NUMBER. How DARE you consider taking the teeth out of this law just for some bunch of companies that want to go back to driving people crazy!!! You ought to be forced to answer telemarketing calls 16 hours a day, half of which are pre-recorded garbage messages. Maybe six months of that and you'd see things differently. Some politician must be repaying his or her campaign contributions, eh? I hope that person is kicked out of office with a resounding whack on their behind. We need peace and quiet so we can go about our lives doing what is important, not racing for phones with nothing on the other end but a jabbering idiot in a recorded message. Such as: Hello, my name is Kelly. I am calling for the National Travel Service to offer you .... blah blah blah... By the way, want their phone number? Here it is: 305-675-6263. Go ahead, call them up. Tell them how much you love their pre-recorded messages and how many times you'd love for them to call YOUR house. And that's a real example. Offering a Floridian a Florida vacation. Whoop-de-doo. Guess what -- I can drive to the places they named in an hour and use my annual passes. Indiscriminate abuse of the phone service and of my time, that's all it is. You guys better ditch this idea and fast. It totally and fully stinks.
