Comments:

The point of the Do Not Call registry is so that consumers will not be bothered by telemarketers. Whether the telemarketers are electronic or not should not affect the fact that those residences on the Do Not Call list should not be called, because they do not want to be bothered. There should be no exceptions to this, the current law is simple, clear, and most importantly, effective. There are plenty of other avenues that marketers can use for advertising where the consumer can choose whether or not they want to be exposed to it without being bothered. A ringing phone, by definition, is bothersome and I consider telemarketing a exploitation of a public system for profit against the public will and interest. Please oppose the proposed amendment, we the people do not support it.
