As a citizen, I've been extremely pleased with the implementation and results of the DNC system, and I'm concerned that you would consider weakening such an effective piece of legislation to benefit telemarketers. In our modern situation where the businesses I do business with are bought and sold by other businesses without my input or approval, the existance of some kind of "existing business relationship" between myself an a telemartketing entity should not be taken as evidence of any desire on my part to be bothered at home or marketed to. I worry that what sounds like a small loophole may easily be large enough to re-open the floodgates of annoying and disturbing telephone intrusion that were shut off by the federal Do Not Call list.
