As a person from a state where we just completed a highly funded senate campaing, I can tell you that telemarketing through automation is even more annoying than telemarketing by person. You don't even have the satisfaction of hanging up on a real person. The proposal to allow companies that I may or may not have done business with to use computers to call me is against the intention of the original law which was supposed to alleviate the constant telemarketing we experience in our homes. Allowing it to come back "with restrictions" that actually cut the cost of performing the interruption is unthinkable!
