"Do not call" means "do not call". Any change that makes it easier for marketers to unleash the calling droids on consumers who they claim to have a business relationship with is a terrible idea and should not be allowed. The downsides are many but key among them is that many consumers, myself included, no longer give valid phone numbers to companies we do business with. This is a bad outcome because the company cannot reach us in the event of an actual problem such as identity theft. In the event of a serious problem with our account or relationship, the business will have a real person call. Thus, limiting the use of calling droids means those calls that are made are actually important and not just phone spam designed to increase incremental revenue. --- Mark
