"established business relationship". That says it all. Or to be more precise, it says absolutely nothing. I routinely receive e-mails in my inbox which claim to have some sort of "established business relationship" with me, yet I have absolutely no idea who they are or what they want. Furthermore, allowing this exception for pre-recorded messages is even worse, considering the cost of calling for the offending company will be negligable. The only time I ever listen to a pre-recorded message is in hopes that a live human will eventually answer on the other end, and I will be given an opportunity to explain to them that such marketing practices ultimately exclude them from consideration.
