Before the Do Not Call registry, my phone would ring with solicitations from 8am to 10pm every day. The phone was a terrible disruption to the peace and quiet I want and my small child had difficulty napping with the phone constantly ringing. I couldn't turn the phone off in case of an urgent call from a family member. If I let the answering maching take the call, these calls take up my entire message tape. What is the difference between being disrupted by an unwanted solicitation by a live person or a taped message???? There isn't!!! Providing a loophole to the current rules will make the Do Not Call list a joke. The phone will still ring constantly as live persons are replaced by recorded messages. Even though I am on the Do Not Call list, I am still disrupted by UNWANTED recorded solicitations!! I have never purchased and will never purchase anything over the phone unless I initiate the phone call to a company. The Do Not Call list has made my life a lot better because it has reduced the number of unwanted calls I receive, however I still receive several calls a week. If this loophole is provided, life will return to the chaos that it was prior to the Do Not Call list. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, DO NOT GRANT THIS LOOPHOLE!!!!! Thank you for the opportunity to voice my opinion.
