The only reasonable change I can see is the consumer would need to opt-in for companies to contact them in this fashion. Since signing up for the registry, the amount of unsolicited calls I receive has dropped significantly and I would like to keep it that way. Just because I buy something from a company does not mean I wish for them to start spamming me with their latest marketing campaign. I already ignore calls from numbers I do not recognize and I do not wish to have my voicemail box fill up with unsolicited offers as a consequence.
