I DO NOT want to receive any pre-recorded calls of any kind. I am against any changes to the Telemarketing Sales Rule. People fought to keep from being harassed by telemarketers and now these "proposed change" will negate a lot of the benefit gained. If you think telemarketers will absolutely obey any rules that limit them, you are extremely naive about them. They already bend any rules they can to the breaking point. DO NOT give them any additional ground. I personally WILL NOT (as in never) purchase any item from a telemarketer. I do not need my time or resources wasted. Are they going to pay me for my time as I will be forced to listen? Are you aware that you cannot disconnect an incoming call by hanging up? Your phone is tied up until the pre-recorded message is completed. What do I do if I have an emergency? My phone would be useless until a telemarketer is finished using it. I have to pay for my phone. It has only become more expensive since "deregulation." A telemarketer has no right to use services that cost me to conduct his business without my permission. And I say NO to that! Please, do not contribute to harassment of the general public in the US by making these proposed changes.
