For 22 years, I have maintained an unlisted number and have made sure our family members never give the number out. As a result, we have had very few junk calls. I somewhat reluctantly registered on the Do Not Call list thinking that someday the numbers could be released to telemarketers, triggering a flood of junk calls to our protected number. This NOPR seems to be confirming my worst fear. I trusted the FCC to maintain my number and all other registrants' numbers, in strictest confidence. Please do not violate this confidence. Junk calls are the bane of our society and I applaud the FCC for having the courage to begin the Do Not Call registry. Please, DO NOT succumb to the commercial forces of telemarketers and make the proposed change. Please take a continued and principaled stand on behalf of U.S. consumers that clearly DO NOT WANT JUNK CALLS.
