The FTC should be commended for implementing the DO NOT CALL list. This rule has been very successful. It has been utilized by 10's of millions of household thoughout the nation. I find it disheartening to discover that the FTC is considering weakening this very popular rule. I understand that telemarketing is a multibillion dollar industry, but in the grand scheme, this method of marketing is no different from email spam. Both methods of interaction with the customer are an intrusion on the time and resources of the target of the marketing. On an incident by incident basis, telemarketing is by far more onerous than an email message. PLEASE do not weaken this successful rule.
