On behalf of the members of the Idaho Green Party, as well as concerned citizens of other parties, I would like to express my dissaproval of the proposed changes. "Do Not Call" means DO NOT CALL. Those who signed up of this list did so under the impression that they would be protected from telemarketers. The recorded message format of telemarketing puts children, seniors, and others who may be unaware of the nature of the call at risk of agreeing to things they would not knowingly agree to. The most damming effect of this change is the ultimate denial of trust to the people of the United States. The FTC told America, "Sign up and you will not recieve telemarketing calls."- yet with this change those who signed up WILL recieve calls. This decision is comparable to a breach of contract and should not be allowed. If the people of this fine country wanted telemarketing calls, they would not have signed up for the list.
