I heartily oppose the proposed rule changes. I registered with the national service to place my phone number on the "No Call List" and I no longer answer the telephone during the evening hours because live telemarketers currently will not leave messages on answering machines. However, I Iearned much to my disgust and aggravation, during the recent political campaigns, that candidates do not hesitate to leave recorded messages on answering machines and it was VERY frustrating sorting out those recorded messages to get to the ones I actually wanted to hear. If telemarketers are allowed to use recorded messages we will return to the same level of anger that caused the creation of the current rules so please save us all from this modern day plague! Thanks very much.
