It has been brought to my attention that Allen Hile of the FTC's division of marking practice is advocating 'opening up' the Do-Not-Call registry to allow 'pre-recorded message telemarketing' from companies having a 'established business relationship' with the client in the registry. I completely disagree with this proposal. I want to suggest in the strongest terms that I feel such a motion is exactly against the entire purpose for which I (and perhaps others) signed up for the Do-Not-Call registry in the first place.
