I object most strenuously to this rule allowing automated, pre-recorded *phone spam* to those on the FTC Do-Not-Call list. I placed myself on this list to stop *all* telemarketing calls. I am certain no taxpayer put their name on this list with the idea that it was OK for machines to harrass them. This is simple common sense. If you do not see the logic, poll people and see. I have no confidence whatsoever that telemarketers will interpret *an existing business relationship* in any way that preserves the peace, quite and privacy of taxpayers who have already told the FTC that they wish to be left alone by telemarketers. I urge the FTC to remember the strong support that tens of millions of taxpayers gave the original Do-Not-Call list implementation. This rule-making will generate exactly the oppositie reaction, and in the same numbers. DO NOT ALLOW AUTOMATED PHONE SPAM TO THE DO-NOT-CALL LIST. Thanks, Larry McCarthy Los Angeles, California
