As an American citizen and consumer I would consider this an abandonment of the earlier stance and obligation of the FTC to protect the consumer from overly intrusive marketing efforts by the DMA. Even more so because the FTC will have now propagated the target call list for this marketing by having provided phone numbers that may not have been made available to the DMA prior to creation of the DNC list. This would create a clear violation of my trust given to the FTC when providing my information for the DNC list. In simpler words, please keep them off my phone in any form..
