Comments:
The success of the Do Not Call list should be a clear sign that people do not wish to receive any telemarketting calls. In addition, I do not wish to be called to answer surveys or make donations or for political campaigns. My phone is for my own convenience, to communicate with the people to whom I choose. The first sentence in the FTC's Guide for Consumers states the FTC works to promote trade"free of restrictions that harm consumers". Passage of the amendment above is clearly against both the personal wishes of consumers as well as the stated goals of the FTC.
