Comments:

I do not support the proposed amendment of the Telemarketing Sales Rule to create an additional call abandonment safe harbor to allow telemarketing calls that deliver a prerecorded message to consumers with whom the seller on whose behalf the calls are made has an established business relationship. The Do-Not-Call list has greatly reduced an unwanted and disruptive intrusion into our homes, and made a wonderful contribution to our peace and privacy. Peeling back this protection would be a step backwards, and potentially be used as an example for further erosion. Our homes are one of our few remaining personal and private places to escape the constant barrage of commercialism. After making great progress in minimizing unwanted interruptions on our home phones, we need not now allow this protection to be eroded. Do not allow these additional telemarketing calls. I appreciate the opportunity to comment.
